How To Get Model-Like Bone Structure With Dermal Fillers

It’s difficult to not be envious of supermodels. They’ve got luscious hair, a toned physique, and chiseled facial features, among several other assets. While I can’t promise that I’ll give you a six-pack or hair makeover, as an Aesthetic Injector, I can most definitely help you improve your already beautiful facial structure. One of my most requested treatments at Myrha Beauty is facial contouring with dermal fillers 💉 - and for good reason! These fillers add volume in just the right areas of your face to give you that coveted angular and well-defined look. Read on for more details on what dermal fillers are all about!

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are approved by the Food and Drug Administration to add volume to your skin while smoothing it out. They are administered via injection with a needle 💉. Don’t get them mixed up with Botox! Botox is made to “freeze” the muscles where it is injected, whereas dermal fillers are simply injected there to add volume and “fill.”

“Now what are dermal fillers made out of?” you might ask. Well, that’s an excellent question, let me answer it for you, without going full scientist on you 👩🏼‍🔬. We mostly just use dermal fillers that are made with hyaluronic acid (HA). Believe it or not, this acid is actually produced naturally in your body...it’s found right in your skin! We prefer to use fillers with hyaluronic acid, because they not only add volume, but they also hydrate your skin! How’s that for a two-for-one special?!

What Makes Dermal Fillers Work So Well?

One common reason that people are so in love with dermal fillers is the fact that they can see their results before they even head out of my office! That’s right! These HA fillers are actually made to work instantly; you can head back home looking like you’re ready to walk the runway! The filler will be fully embedded 3-4 weeks after treatment. The fact that these fillers can easily be dissolved is also super appealing (more on that below 🙂).

How Long Will My New Model-Like Facial Structure Last?

Your dermal filler results are not permanent, unfortunately. Since the filler normally starts to break down around the 10-12 month mark for most people, I usually recommend that they come back to Myrha Beauty around 9 months post-treatment. If you stay on top of things, a quick “touch up” once or twice a year should be sufficient 👌.

What Side Effects Will The Dermal Fillers Have?

Dermal fillers don’t normally have too many adverse effects. Here are the most commonly reported ones:

  • Bruising, tenderness, swelling, redness (usually gone within a week)

  • Raised bumps (very rare)

What If I Don’t Like The Results?

No need to panic at all, my friend! The filler can easily be dissolved with the help of a Hylenex treatment! Feel free to open up a new tab, to read my blog post from November on this! To give a quick summary, Hylenex rarely causes any unwanted swelling, and the treatment is also FAST...most Hylenex treatments take around 5 minutes! So, needless to say, there’s not a huge risk factor going into this. If your results aren’t up to par with your model-like aesthetic goals, you can simply reverse them, using your same favorite injector 😉.
