What are Dermal Fillers made of?
Fillers are made out of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) that is a natural substance found within the human body. Adults contain 15 grams of HA and 50 percent is found within the skin. HA decreases as we age causing less collagen and fibers, reduces skin elasticity and increases wrinkles.
Benefits of HA:
· Promotes collagen production
· Increases volume and plump
· Helps retain water and moisture
· Maintaining a softer and more-youthful skin.

The nurse injector may use a topical anesthetic numbing cream to provide relief. When the syringe enters the skin, you will feel a prick which should only feel minor pain. In addition, most fillers contains lidocaine which helps with the discomfort and pain. This is a non evasive procedure, the treatment for the pain is very minimal but the biggest risk is having an allergic reaction to the product.
If you are happy with the procedure, and like to maintain the fullness and appearance. You may return for a touch up treatment to retain volume and shape. With our top of the line products, it can last up to 12 months or so.
Ideally, the visible results should take instantly, depending on the area of the procedure. The lips is also instant but with the amount of swelling involved it should be given 3 to 7 days for the actual result for the swelling to subside.
Fortunately HA fillers are reversible. If you aren't happy with the result there is an option to completely reverse the results by injecting Hyaluronidase into the same site which will cause the fillers to dissolve within the 24 hours.
To reduce the risk of complications and ensure your safety it is important that the nurse injector and Medical Directive will review your medical history including over the counter medications your currently taking, allergies, current medical and health conditions. Anyone with HSV-1 should be treated with antiviral medication prior to the procedure. The common complication can occur is if the patient is prone to cold sore as it can develop an outbreak.
